Copper Cookware

Copper cookware has traditionally been used by chefs. Most common are pots, pans, frypans and Catalanas intended for use on a stove or range cook top. The reason that copper cookware is a popular choice is its unrivalled heat conductivity- twice as efficient as aluminium and up to ten times as efficient as stainless steel!

A copper pan will heat up quite quickly, which significantly reduces energy used and cooking times. This makes it very useful in a Restaurant setting, where meals must be prepared quickly. This conductivity also allows for more precise cooking. If you adjust the heat on your burners, the temperature of the pan will respond almost immediately. Its is of course attractive, lighter and easier to handle than stainless steel which is more often heavy and cold.

Classically in Western cooking, the best pots were made out of a thick layer of copper for good thermal conductivity and a thin layer of tin to prevent the copper from reacting with acidic foods.

Copper Cookware has always been the first choice of traditional chefs for effective cooking. Copper cookware is preferred around the world because it’s durable and it has excellent characteristics.

Another reason people are drawn to copper cookware is the fact that, if it's cared for properly, it is warm and attractive. Often, you will see copper pots and pans displayed as decorations when they are not in use. There's no denying the beauty and shine of copper cookware.
